Hatchery Outdoor Adventure - Norfork National Fish Hatchery
Saturday, September 9, 2017 – 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Volunteers needed to meet, greet and talk to kids and their families about our streams, rivers and what we can do at home and in our communities to assure good quality water.
Friends of the Rivers focus at this outdoor experience is to introduce kids to the enjoyment of the outdoors, and to learn about other species, insects, fish, butterflies and more that share our land and water. Friends message is about water quality and what we can do in our homes and communities to help protect our streams and rivers for the sake of good, usable water.
Among the activities will be fishing on Dry Run Creek (limited to kids 15 and under), little kids raceway fishing, hatchery tours, archery, Japanese
Fish Painting, and spin casting to a target along with several other exciting events all sponsored by our participating partners. This year
we'll also have a water cooling station so prepare to get wet. There will also be food and beverage service available.
Come meet volunteers from other organizations such as Master Gardeners, Arkansas National Guard, Norfork Volunteer Fire Department, ASUMH.
Each kid that registers will receive a "Passport" to take with them to any of the events they would like to try. The sponsor will sign off on their passport and have them participate in their activity where they can have fun doing and learn a little.
Admission is free so bring your kids and grandkids and enjoy a day of fun and outdoor activities at the Hatchery Outdoor Adventure.
