Jasper, AR - Carroll Electric Community Room
Jointly coordinated by The Arkansas National Resources Commission (ANRC), in cooperation with the Beautiful Buffalo River Action Committee (BBRAC) this 4th and final public information meeting will present recommendations for implementation of not only best management practices, but also awareness, outreach, and education activities that will contribute to the desired outcome -- sustaining and improving water quality in the Buffalo River watershed.
The meeting is FREE and everyone is welcome to attend. Since December 2016, two watershed meetings have been conducted in Marshall and one in Jasper to gather public input and to explain the process followed in the development of the non-regulatory, voluntary watershed-based management plan for the Buffalo River and its tributaries.
Beginning Thursday, October 5th, the recommendations can be downloaded at the link Buffalo WMP Recommendations Input from the public regarding the watershed plan.

The BBRAC was organized by Governor Asa Hutchison to establish an Arkansas led approach to identify and address potential issues of concern in the Buffalo River watershed through the development of a non-regulatory watershed based management plan. The process should be completed by June of 2018. The result of the plan will provide a framework for landowners, communities, and organizations to voluntarily undertake water quality projects in the watershed and improve the ability to solicit and secure funding and assistance from various government and private sources.
