Friends invites you to help promote our pollinators and enhance our natural habitat by using native plants in your landscape.
Linda Glass learned to appreciate the natural world and developed an interest in and a love for wildflowers through her mother, Wanda Glass. Since retirement as a public school science teacher, Linda has continued to study and learn about the importance of native plants and their relationship to other living things. Her undergraduate degree is in biology and education. Linda is a member of Buffalo National River Partners, Friends of Baker Prairie, and North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists.
Friends offers Tried and True: Native Plants for Your Yard. Used regularly by Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners alike, this Missouri Department of Conservation publication showcases more than 100 plants native to our area. Armed with this resource that describes the light, moisture preference, mature height and spreak, season of interest, wildlife benefits and maintenance tips you will be creating a habitat that deeds and shelters desirable wildlife as well as picking plants best suited for your conditions and purpose.
