Middle White River - Watershed Management Plan

May 31, 2018

Arkansas Natural Resources Commission schedules public information meeting regarding  the development of a voluntary, non-regulatory Watershed-Based Management Plan for the Middle White River.

Thursday, May 31 - 9:30 a.m -  to Noon - NO CHARGE TO ATTEND

University of Arkansas Community College - Batesville, Independence Hall Banquet Room, 2005 White River (Highway 25)

The meeting will be to gather public input and to explain the process that will be followed in the development of a non-regulatory watershed-based management plan for the Middle White River and its tributaries. Over the course of the next 16 to18 months, ANRC will develop a watershed-based management plan that is designed to help improve and sustain water quality in the watershed.

The Middle White River Watershed includes portions of 10 counties and extends from the Mountain Home area to near Jacksonport.

The purpose of the watershed management plan is to provide a framework for landowners, communities, and qualifying organizations to voluntarily undertake water quality projects in the watershed and improve their ability to receive grants from ANRC and other sources. There will be three additional public meetings during the development of the Middle White River Watershed-Based Management Plan.
