The Hatchery Outdoor Adventure was a resounding success, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our volunteers and mentors. According to registration, 297 youth and 262 adults attended. A special thanks to Dianne Yaich and Susan Blumreich for their exceptional work managing the event registration.

The idea for this outdoor adventure originated with Mike Tipton, who served as HOA president in the 2010s. Mike's vision of a "hands-on" experience for the kids has been instrumental in making this event a reality. Mike and Karen Tipton, along with Joe and Lerene Salisbury, generously sponsored the s'mores making activity for all attendees.

Our team was kept busy from 9 AM to 2 PM, guiding a steady stream of excited youth ages 9 to 15 on fly fishing adventures on Dry Run Creek. Many of the kids successfully caught fish, including several in the 16-inch range. There were even tales of larger fish that managed to escape, like the massive rainbow trout that Jack Curtis hooked.

The recent Friends of the Hatchery Outdoor Adventure was a resounding success, drawing over 550 attendees of all ages. The event featured a wide range of activities, including fly fishing, fly tying, fly casting, kiddy fishing, insect exploration, archery, kayaking, Japanese fish printing, crafts, biking, forestry demonstrations, law enforcement displays, boat safety information, fossil exploration, s'mores making, and game scene investigation.

A Special Thank You

We extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated volunteers and mentors who made this event possible. Their enthusiasm and expertise were instrumental in providing a memorable experience for all attendees.
