Aspiring Anglers Hooked on Fun with Dry Run Creek Academy
We are pleased to announce the initial season of Dry Run Creek Academy is off to a great start. Thirty-six students have completed the Brook Trout Level class through group classes and individual sessions and ten students completed the Rainbow Level Class August 19. The Academy provides four levels of instruction.
A Brown Trout level class will be scheduled this fall for those students who have completed the Rainbow Level class. Each level is mentored by experienced fly fishers. The Academy is sponsored by North Arkansas Fly Fishers, Trout Unlimited White River Chapter 698, Friends of the Norfork National Fish Hatchery, Friends of the North Fork and White Rivers and Dragontail Tenkara who provides the tenkara rods used by the Academy.
Participants receive medals and certificates of achievement upon completing each level and all students have caught beautiful trout on Dry Run Creek. The Academy is free and all equipment and supplies are provided by the Academy. Each level is 3 to 4 hours including fishing on Dry Run Creek.
All individual participants must be accompanied by an adult. Group sessions are limited to 10 due to the number of mentors required. For more information about the Academy or how to sign up for programs please contact:
