Great News! The Friends of the North Fork and White Rivers (Friends) has just received significant recognition of its important work. Friends has been chosen Outstanding Organization of 2023 by the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented to Friend's President Steve Blumreich at the Chamber's annual dinner on Jan 25, 2024.
We are honored to have been chosen for this award, which was in recognition of the leadership that Friends provided in coordinating opposition to the reopening of the NABORS landfill. The effort is a wonderful example of how local and state government, together with numerous public groups and private citizens, worked diligently to prevent the landfill from reopening.
Friends is made up of committed individuals who help to maintain and improve the waters all of our communities in several counties. So if you are a Friends of the Rivers member, you contributed to and share in this honor. The award was accepted in all our names. We should all be proud. Let's renew our commitment to healthy local waterways!
