Sowbug Roundup
The 28th annual International Sowbug Roundup is set to take place from March 27th to March 29th, 2025, at the Baxter County Fairgrounds in Mountain Home, Arkansas. This event is a premier fly fishing and fly tying show, featuring over 100 expert fly tyers sharing their techniques and expertise.
The event includes daily auctions and raffles, free seminars covering topics such as Euronymphing, targeting brown trout, and fly fishing for native Arkansas fishes. There will also be free fly-tying and casting classes, including sessions by renowned instructors like Tim Flagler and Pat Dorsey. Kids' events are also available, including free fly-tying classes and access to Dry Run Creek, a unique fishery for those under 16.
The event will feature speakers discussing topics such as "When, Where, and How to Fish Our Local Waters," "How to Target Brown Trout on the White River," and "Euronymphing Equipment, Flies, and Strategies."
This event is the largest club event in America, attracting attendees from all 50 states and several countries. It serves as the North Arkansas Fly Fishers' sole fundraiser, supporting conservation, education, and philanthropic activities.
